The booklet intends to expose the true intention of the Bhartiya Janta Party led coalition government in setting up a commission for reviewing the constitution. Brushing aside its other important agenda, BJP made sure that constitutional review became a part of the national agenda. With this the BJP-RSS combine aimed at changing the very fabric of the constitution for establishing a constitution dominated by the Hidutva ideology. The BJP has always supported the RSS demand for establishment of one nation, one people and one culture. This is nothing but a covert way of imposing the Hindutva ideology, as the author points out. They have gone to the extent of claiming Hindutva as a backbone of cultural nationalism. With such a Hindutva mindset the BJP attempted removal of Article 30 that guarantees the minority community’s right to set up educational institutions. Such intentions not only destroy the fabric of a democratic constitution but lead to social fragmentation as well.
