After Ambedkar’s death a movement , known as Ambedkar Aandolan , was initiated by his followers for establishing, a new India , based on ideals of freedom, equality and fraternity . The movement was against the domination of varna-system , which deplumed their self-respect and freedom. But upper caste tried to weaken the movement by presenting Ambedkar as pro-British and promoting their puppets as Dalit leaders. Thus, this movement remained spilt and stagnant. The failure of this movement to mobilize dalits shows that mere charity or appeals to change of heart would not bring revolution. Infact, education and positive organizational force is best way for constructive mobilization. Besides this, Dalit literature should play a strengthening role to promote dalit consciousness and by emphasizing character of Phule, Shahu ji, Ambedkar , etc. should positively reconstruct their repressed rage. A hopeful future of this movement is being forecasted, in the welfare of most deprived section of society.
