The booklet is an attempt at explicating Ravana from mythological encrustment of Hinduism in which Ram has been exalted to the status of God and Ravana to brute defamation- to be detested and scoffed at.Infact, as archeological details show how Saket and Ayodhya were different and Buddha visited Saket . Periyar’s book – Ramayana : A True Reading projected Ravana as Dravidian hero. Since Aryans were victorious , they arrogated to themselves supersensible titles and dubbed Ravana as a moral devidiant. Infact, Buddha and Ravana were contemporary and latter received many lesson of wisdom from him. He was known as “dashanana” not for having ten heads but for having knowledge equal to ten intellectuals. Balmiki’s Ramayana is a post – Buddha work which meticulously creates Rama against Dravidians. A study of genealogies of various characters of Ramayana also confirm this.Recently a procession of Ravana, in Kanpur, exhibits that Buddhists are trying to overthrow superimposed tradition .
