The basic issue before human life is to improve, through rational planning to improve its quality. It can come only by embracing a religion that allows inclusivity and participation of all, honouring dignity of each other. But it is a sensitive issue to be contemplated by all communities among untouchables separately. All are to be aware of slavish life foisted on them, depriving them of economic and intellectual growth. Vulnerability to amazing atrocities has been perpetuated, as is evidenced by history. Christians, Muslims, Sikhs are mostly from among the untouchables. They are unified and secure, but the outcastes remain subject to torments and abuses. None will like to consume items from an untouchable’s shop. So religion is prior to economic development. Hence, the need for embracing Buddhism that teaches man to be enlightened on his own, and to surrender only to truth.
