Aryans were the source of Hindu religion as is sufficiently evidenced by archaeological findings, and it continues to flourish even today. Its consequences or Indian Society have been illiteracy and ignorance among people, blind faith in the existence of god, lack of basic scientific awareness about environment, corruption and criminalization, gender inequality and crime against women, and, communalism and casteism. Medieval saints and modern social reformers made enormous efforts but its intransigence refrained it. It was Ambedkar who could shake its foundations. Now, new ways are being invented to retain the past structures and ethos that accrue to it. Religion based politics and attack on minorities are new strategies. Age limit to retire has been raised and judiciary with upper caste dominance decides in favour of Brahminism. It is strange that both dalits and Scheduled Tribes have derivated from their basic purpose of emancipation from the past. In such circumstances, the present constitution needs to be replaced by a new constitution in favour of presidential system of government as it would reduce both the number of mushrooming political parties and unwarranted expenditure.
